Our nominated charities

The Children's Society

In this parish we support the work of The Children's Society charity, which brings hope, safety and happiness to the lives of thousands of this country's young people.  One of the ways we do this is by collecting money in boxes at home.  The boxes are opened annually by our Parish Box Co-ordinator and all the proceeds are sent to The Children's Society.

The collections at our Christingle and Crib Serves leading up to Christmas are donated to The Children's Society.

As the use of cash has dropped you may wish to donate online at https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk/how-you-can-help/donate.   Thank you for your support.

Local Food Bank

...For I was hungry

and you gave me food...

Here at the Kingsthorpe Team Ministry, we support the local food bank in Northampton.  This is a Christian organisation motivated by Jesus' teaching on poverty and injustice that seeks to show compassion and care for those most in need within our community.  The food bank provides a minimum of three days of food up to five times a year to the households and individuals refered to them by frontline professionals, such as doctors and social workers.  Food bank volunteers make the time to chat to their clients and point them towards other helpful services.

Each of our three churches collect dried and tinned food, long-life milk and preserves, and toiletries for the food bank.  If you would like to support the work of the food bank, please add one or more of the following items to your shopping basket each week and drop them into one of our churches.  You can include chocolate or mince pies too - remember we all like a treat, especially in the run up to Christmas, Easter or family celebrations!
